from the WV Gazette:

Suddenlink plans to invest $35 million in West Virginia this year.

The money will go toward launching competitive phone service in new markets, increasing Internet speeds and adding more high-definition television channels, according to the company.

Dave Bach, vice president of Suddenlink’s Atlantic region, said the TV, phone and Internet provider also wants to enhance the overall quality and reliability of its services.

St. Louis-based Suddenlink serves about 1.3 million homes nationwide and more than 220,000 in West Virginia.

WOW! With less than qtr of a million subscribers in the state, these upgrades could be MAJOR. Most of the other markets that Suddenlink serves have more HD channels and faster Internet connection speeds (10mbps vs 6mbps), so we’ll see. Eh, who knows, maybe by the time Suddenlink upgrades everything, FiOS will be in Charleston (it’s coming!)
